"London Calling" for Love

This may be a little 'out there' for some, but i'm going to write honestly about my perspective on the London riots.  At the moment i feel London calling out for love and support to counter the fear spreading from there.  We can all help London by looking at ourselves.

The UK is a place of repressed emotions.  It is not considered okay to share our true fears, anger, weaknesses etc.  We can moan about our boss or complain about our boy/girlfriend, but this hardly goes to the depth of our painful feelings.  As a society we're encouraged to 'stay chipper', which means suppressing our deeper fears from our family, friends and even ourselves.

It's these repressed feelings of anger, frustration, criticism, weakness and so on, which i believe are now pouring out of the rioters in London.

Seeing 'London' inside each of us...
This past week i've been surprised by how much anger has been boiling up in me.  "Most unusual" thought i & pushed it aside.  But it continued to surface, together with feelings of fear, sadness & weakness.  Usually i look at all the negative thoughts & emotions inside and gratefully process them (using EFT, tarot, and other tricks).  So, why this time was my tendency to push it away?

I started to see a pattern between the 'rioting' angry part of me & the 'judgemental' condemning part.  i saw in myself what is happening in London.  The world is a mirror, reflecting back to us what we are.  Even though i'm in India, i am still connected to the goings on in the UK.  So, i can take responsibility (without guilt!) for the part i've played in the UK being the way it currently is: which i believe, in this case, means acknowledging my repressed anger, fear, self-judgement etc.  Saying 'hello' to my shadow-side!

Once we begin to accept the reality that these feelings are inside us, only then can we begin to process them, to let them go.  It's time to stop ignoring these parts of us.  To stop putting on our British 'polite smiles', 'keeping up appearances' and 'stiff upper-lips'.  To stop pretending to others and ourselves that everything is tickety-boo, when really we feel like we're falling apart inside.  It's time to stop judging the rioters as separate and distant.  To realise instead that we are all connected to our society and culture.

Know that it's okay to feel angry, weak, sad, afraid etc.  These are a normal part of the human experience!  It's even okay that we've been suppressing these emotions for many years.  i am grateful to the riots for showing me what i have been repressing.  Melting and dealing with these feelings is a lot healthier than having them erupt and boil over.  We can alchemise all emotions and feelings into positive, healthy ones.  But first we must accept that they are there, THEN we can begin to love and care for this neglected part of us.

So, what to do???
First, let's get real with ourselves.  When you feel afraid...acknowledge that feeling.  "i'm feeling afraid about..." is a better inner-monologue than "oh shut up", "it's not okay to be afraid", "i don't get scared" etc. One way accepts and one suppresses.  (To be clear, i'm not talking about fear of the riots, rather whatever form fear, anger etc is arising in your life.)

Once you've accepted your fear there are many ways to process it.  My favourite is EFT.  I've written guidelines on how to practice on yourself - email me for the document.  You could also try having a conversation with your fear (or whichever negative emotion you're experiencing), to understand it better and see where its roots are.

But most importantly allow the emotion to be there, even though it doesn't feel so pleasant, even though it goes against your natural conditioning.  You'll get cosmic bonus points (and feel better) if you can manage the next step...love yourself for feeling afraid/angry/weak etc.  i ain't going to tell you this is easy - we're brought up to believe we should only love what is good.  But i tell you the truth....we got to ***LOVE IT ALL***!  Love the so-called 'good' and so-called 'bad' inside each of us.

Perhaps you can also bring in some forgivenessForgive yourself for feeling this way.  Don't get dragged into the story, drama or the thoughts about the situation, which was only the catalyst for the emotion.  Stay on the feeling level - it's more significant:  the story exists solely to allow you to alchemise these feelings.

Now is the time to release the control the egoic-mind has over our lives.  To return to, & choose instead, the wisdom of our hearts.
I love each of you and i also love all the anger, fear, doubt, weakness and pain which you try to hide away!  It's all there inside each of us and it's time to get a bit more honest about it.  When you start looking at it, you'll realise it's not as big and scary as it seems trapped inside.   Let it out and love yourself!

Show your vulnerability to others & be gentle with yourself.  You'll be amazed at the outcome!
Remember always your heart!

Thank you for reading and listening to this perspective (remember that it takes courage to share this!)

In pure love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

random india tales...

Pushkar, Rajasthan

Last time i was in Pushkar there were bulldozers on the lake.  "Creation is under construction" i noted in my journal.   In the Hindu texts, Pushkar lake is said to be where the world began.  It was quite a chaotic sight:  these yellow machines more fitting of a building site, churning up chunks of sacred earth.  And it was, naturally, an apt reflection for the turmoil awakening in my life at the time.

That was all two and a half years afore.  Now i gladly find Pushkar a peaceful town, busy with happy Rajasthani pilgrims.  i settle into my favourite india time-pass - sitting in the street and suppin' chai from clay cups (to be smashed in the gutter after use)...and i watch India flow by.  Cows, pilgrims dressed in the most fantastic saris, gypsy skirts, flashy gigantic braclets, nose rings, anklets, colours which feel as though i'm sitting inside a National Geographic.  Mens' turbans are so neon and bright they could've inspired the 80s fashion.  Childrens' eyes as wide and open as their grins.

As i watch them pass, they watch me with equal amazement and intrigue.  We grin at each other.  Sometimes they continue, reach a 'safe distance' and stare some more.  Sometimes they cajole one another into coming back and asking my name, giggling so much they rival young teens being told they look cute.  i love the child-like-ness of the people here.

***

i arrived in Pushkar after a magical time in Northern India (Ladakh).  There are too many adventures to try to cram into a blog!  i started to write an entry when i was there but was distracted into another amazing journey before i could type it up...here it is.

Ladakh, Northern India

monastery en route to Hemis, Ladakh

i admire who or whatever it is that's writing the screenplay of my life.  Although if it were a movie, i would mutter aloud "yeh right" frequently at the implausable plot twists, unbelievable characters and the far-out synchronicities.  But when i'm experiencing them as reality, i remember the magic of being a child...wide-eyed in wonder and amazement of this life which swirls and blossoms around me.

Before i begin, let me introduce Antoine, a French photographer who i met in Leh 6 years ago.  We shared an epic adventure together involving double-humped camels.  He's inspiring, dynamic, creative, fun and a beautiful friend.

So, we set off for a Tibetan festival in a monestary 30km away.  We hitch in the back of an open-topped pickup.  The high altitude (3,500m) landscape wooshing 360 degrees around us.  We walk across a prayerflag strewn bridge and onto a dirt track.  We're carrying small bags and are free from plans like where we'll sleep or eat.

After the first kilometre a local boy falls into step with us.  "Do you like camels?" he asks.  Our enthusiastic reply has him lead us to the camel farm in the village (A place Antoine knows well, but would've forgotten about had this Ladaki angel not led us there!).

double humped - bactrian camels (their feet make me think of star wars)

A baby camel has its snout pushed through the metal gates as we approach...he's a real cutie.  It transpires that his mother has abandoned him because the first camel she gave birth to died.  The baby seems quite distraught and has a charming stupid expression which is almost cartoon.

the eft'd baby camel

i've been practicing a phenomenal healing technique called EFT (emotional freedom technique) which i studied in San Francisco last year (my website: www.EFTHarmony.com).  As it works well with trauma, i wonder if it will help the camels and decide to give it a shot.  i practice first with the baby camel, working on the feeling of abandonment.  After a coupole of minutes he starts crying.  i'm shocked - it's just like in the movie 'story of the weeping camel'.  Then i go find the mother, who is hidden behind a group of camels.  i 'tap' on her grief of losing her baby...it's incredible to watch how all the camels move and shift as i start tapping.  Before long the mother is also crying, as was i.

i can't tell you the results - if anything evolved in their relationship, but that isn't so important.  i believe in doing what i feel is required in each situation without being attached to the results.

Antoine and i wandered on towards the festival.  That night we slept in a field and had to relocate in the middle of the night when it started raining (most unusual in ladakh).  But that all leads to another story...involving things that look like this...

monk in a mask, Shatakul festival, Ladakh

So there we have a (relatively long) snapshot from India...i have many beautiful photos to share too.  They're mostly saved as files i can't put on the web (tiffs)...but i've included a few of the original jpegs.

i send love to each of you for whatever quest you are on.  i pray for you to have the courage to trust and follow your heart's wisdom and guidance.  i ask in return for the same.  Things are movin' and shakin' with me...there will be more details soon.

Thanks for reading!  it's time for a chai and another dose of india!
i love you all!!!

"The mind creates the abyss - the heart crosses it." - Sri Nisargatta

so here i am...last day in nepal about to begin a new chapter of the lotus journey in india.  my mind makes a lot of chatter about going to india...it's been a pivotal place for me in the past...what's it going to be *this* time?  why does my mind always want to know what's going to happen in the future?  if i was handed a book with all the events which were to happen in my life, i wouldn't want to read it - i'd rather ***experience*** them, as they're happening in real-time.

so, dear mind, take a breath & settle down some.  i can assure you of one thing, the only thing you are really asking...something a soul-friend of mine sung: "every little thing gonna be alright!"

and come back to the heart.  always, as i feel the breath travelling down through my body & filling my lungs, i can return my awareness, concentration and focus to my heart.  to that beautiful space within me, where all possibilities exist.

then i realise - WOW!  i have a WHOLE day to spend in nepal!  wow!  what am i going to do with it???  (oh there's the mind again...running off to the future.)  breathe.  back to the heart...  WOW  i have this beautiful moment, right HERE, right NOW of being in my heart & putting this love that i feel into this post.  filling this computer screen with all the light i feel connected to & allowing that to flow around the globe & fill wherever it is that you are now sitting...

can you feel it?  i know i'm not imagining it because i can FEEL it within.  this love is real.  and it surrounds us in every moment.  embraces us.  breathe into it.  connect to this source of unconditional, divine love travelling as a light-web around the plannet...around the universe.

***

haha!  funny experience to drop into whilst writing a blog.  the thoughts start to come 'what will my parents think when they read this?'...are they going to think i'm going crazy in asia again?  or will they understand that what i am experiencing could also be interpreted as the love of God?  But this is for them to figure out!  i am learning to be more and more my True Self.

so, here we are.  with this flow i have begun my blog.  let's use it to strengthen together this web of light surrounding this beautiful world...our heart connection.

one more thing...
i believe in miracles, do you?

journey into the unknown

Namaste friends!

Greetings of love and peace on this beautiful Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse day!

i'd like to share some words in connection to today's maya calendar, which is about stepping into the unknown.  Perhaps these words can inspire you....let yourself go as you read them...

***
Journey into the Unknown

Imagine a doorway appears before you in the cosmos.
Inscribed on the door is "Unknown"
You are in the Known...

You know this body, this mind, this heart.
You know this earth with its nourishment.
You know this breath and how it flows through your being.
You know every sound you hear in your environment.
You know your relationship to everyone and everything
which floats through your consciousness.
You know this universe with its laws of operation.
You know how to exist here, how to grow and evolve.

Yet still at the edge, there is this door marked "Unknown"
When you open it and pass through
all that is Known will be surrendered.
The mind tries to project what would be there;
'empty space', 'falling', 'void', 'freedom'...
But these are all Known-concepts,
None of which exist on the other side of this door.

If you wish to experience the Unknown
You must summon all your courage, just to approach the door.
To turn the handle, you release all you have created since birth to keep you safe.

It takes the strength of an exalted warrior to experience the unknown presence of a newborn!
Whisper the words "I am" as you tenuously open the door, and all disappears into the Unknown...

****

If you chose to go thru, be sure to let me know what you discover!

In love, purity & joy! xxxxxx

light connection meditation

Namaste dear friends!

Things are changing quickly on the planet now.  The shake-up to wake-up is intensifying in speed.  We are witnessing healing & growth in ourselves at a rapid pace...how many lifetimes' worth of experience and lessons do you already feel you've gained in *THIS* life, *THIS* decade, *THIS* year?  And it's a snowballing effect, the more we clear & heal in ourselves, the faster & bigger the next understanding is.  We are evolving towards total realization of our True nature at light speed!

Been feeling that have you?!  The 'coincidences', miracles, challenges, magical connections been strong lately?

So, this is what i want to share with you...the connection part.  i've been noticing that when the EFT group i studied with have a weekend workshop, *i* have a transformational weekend...except i'm in Nepal, not San Francisco & not intentionally doing anything.  Or a friend in Finland, unknown to me, leads a meditation group to balance heart & mind...and there i am on the same day making a conscious choice to follow my heart rather than mind.

Made me realize, that as one of us heals, *all* of us feel the change on some level.

Light Connection Meditation
Here's a meditation i channeled this morning, which i invite you to share...start by connecting with your friends...saying aloud the names of all the people you know who are consciously working to heal themselves, & live their life at their full potential - experiencing and sharing the Love they Truly are.  Feel the love & beauty each of these friends bring to your life.  Imagine your connection and love spreading & spanning the earth.  See & FEEL the globe illuminated like an electric grid.  A light-web wrapped around the planet.

Then invite each of your friends to connect with all of *their* friends & loved ones who are also healing & cleaning themselves.  !!!BING!!!! the light connection intensifies!  Then connect to the living gurus... !!!BING!!!.  And connect each to our spirit friends guides, angels & helpers, deceased masters and an aura of energy wraps itself around the planet.  Feel all the realizations, illuminations, love & blessings flowing between us...cosmic messages passing from heart to heart, hand to hand, pure-mind to mind.

And from this place we can start to play!  In my meditation, i chose to bless the earth's water with unconditional love & a belief in miracles.  Then i channeled ALL the love i was feeling to Japan.  Imagining scientists having 'eureka' moments, government officials realizing & implementing solutions, & the people there experiencing waves of calm euphoria, as they understood the situation is going to be okay.

Using the love i was feeling, i practiced ho'oponopono with Japan.  Taking responsibility for my part in the situation there...the nuclear energy i've consumed, the negative thoughts over the years which contributed to the earthquake, global fear & tsunami.  Then repeating the 4 ho'oponopono phrases:
i'm sorry
please forgive me
thank you
i love you

a bit more about Japan...
i'm so grateful to Japan for taking on this challenge.  i believe with its ancient, deep-rooted spirituality, coupled with its phenomenally intelligent, progressive minds, that Japan can lead the world to GREAT leaps in understanding.  And provide a template of how to deal with some of the global challenges we, as a world, may be facing these next years.  i invite you also to feel & believe the same...i see the emblem for Japan just now, as the mighty Phoenix...rising up from the fire which purifies.

Let's chose to send Japan our love, strength, trust & belief in this moment...
go on...take a breath & send Japan some love (:

To each of you, i thank you for being part of (my) life.  For inspiring & sharing your healing with me & my friends...even if you don't realise that you are.

i love you!
jennifer x

ps if you think any one else would benefit from reading this email, please pass
it on.  or share some of your own realizations with your healing friends...this
is not the time to stay small...this is the time to share our hearts with ALL.
NOW is the time, don't be afraid to SHINE!

arrival in nepal (february 2011)

On the plane, i cried 3 times when i saw the horizon-filled himalayas...felt like old friends welcoming me. When i see these mountains i feel an abundance of faith & strength. Doubt vanishes like smoke rising from the flames of 'I AM'. They deliver me to presence and bring me to wordless tears, over & over. Just to be near them, to feel the awe of the Divine. Mighty. Triumphant. Aspired. Where aspiration takes a breath & says "i am enough, right here, right now. i need no more than this. Through this stillness & love, i am connected to every particle of the entire universe."

We share this world & i am honoured.

i went to stay in boudha. i got myself a really nice room, to help acclimatise back to the backpacker lifestyle. Last night I joined in with a candle light procession around the stupa. Hundreds of red robed monks, nuns & tibetans making koras/circles around the stupa, their faces illuminated by soft candles, many carrying pictures of the kamapa lama. i asked later what the procession was for & apparently the kamapa's in trouble with the indian government for tax fraud/evasion! The reason made the whole holy atmosphere seem strange in hindsight. It was a great welcoming experience.

Today i took a couple of tempo/minibus type things into durbar sq (and had a 20 min walk inbetween - lost but not caring!). i sat beneath a bodhi tree & small vishnu/buddha feet temple & drank masala chai from a glass. It's my favourite spot in kathmandu & world-reknowned 'happy place'. It felt good to be back, but i'm also wary of trying to revisit each of these spots sacred to me...there's a distance there, which is hard to explain. It's like i'm only trying to recreat something which was, rather than being open to what can be & what is. i feel somehow removed from the experience as i'm bringing too much past with me into the moment. It's a good thing for me to be aware of, as i begin to travel to places i visited before.

I keep whispering to myself "i'm in nepal" & i'm not sure if that makes it more real or surreal. We can travel so fast by plane, i feel more teleported! All this familiar life has been existing here simultaneously, whilst I've been in beijing, Scotland & the U.S. This seems hard to wrap my head around.

And so i can't guarantee that i'll continue to write a blog or notes about my journey. I tend to give up after a while putting such experiences into words. But if you read this & enjoyed it then drop me a couple of lines & it will show me that people are interested in reading about my experiences & perhaps it'll inspire me to continue writing!
